Dr Petre Prins (Ph.D geology, MBA) Managing Director
Dr Prins studied geology and geochemistry at the University of Stellenbosch and spend two years doing post graduate research at the University of Cambridge , England. On his return he was appointed senior lecturer in geology and mineralogy at the University of Stellenbosch where he taught for 12 years. He has published numerous scientific articles and received the Corstophine Medal from the Geological Society of SA, as well as the SJ Shand Medal from the University of Stellenbosch. In 1979 he completed an MBA degree and thereafter started Prins & Prins Diamonds. He is the author of the “Diamond Bulletin” a quarterly newsletter and the recently published: “GEMS & JEWELLERY- The South African Handbook”.
Me Penny Murdock (GIA Graduate Gemmologist, Accredited Jewellery Professional) Sales Director
Penny Murdock is the daughter of Graham Murdock, one of Cape Town’s most famous jewellers of the past. She has 35 years experience in diamonds and fine jewellery and has recently graduated with distinction as a GIA gemmologist.
Mrs Riana Courtis (GIA Graduate Gemmologist) Director and General Manager
Riana Courtis has been with Prins & Prins since 1985 and recently graduated as a Graduate Gemmologist from GIA.
Mr Daniel van Niekerk (GIA Graduate Gemmologist, Accredited Jewellery Professional) Consultant
After studying engineering at Stellenbosch University Daniel was trained as a goldsmith and thereafter spent a year in the USA graduating as a GIA gemmologist.
Mr Leonard Arendt (EGL Diamond Diploma) Consultant
Leonard Arendt joined Prins & Prins in 2006 after working in the diamond industry for many years. He is a diamond consultant whose care and dedication is much appreciated by his clients.
